This Week's 4 Most Fire Sneaker Releases: Kobe Bryant, Adidas x Simpsons & More
| LAST UPDATE 05/13/2021
1. Nike x UNDEFEATED Kobe 5 Protro "Hall of Fame"
While Kobe Bryant's Nike deal ended in April, there are still a handful of releases on the calendar. The first is this gold and purple Kobe 5 Protro "Hall of Fame" collab with UNDEFEATED celebrating Kobe's upcoming induction this Saturday.
The most thoughtful accent is the listing of Kobe's 3 jersey numbers on the red Swoosh on the left foot: 24, 10 (US Olympic team) and 8. They arrived on Wednesday and are currently reselling for nearly $400 on sites like StockX.
2. Air Jordan 1 KO Retro "Chicago"
No one knows exactly what the "KO" in the Air Jordan 1 KO series stands for but the style was introduced back in 1986 when the brand briefly replaced its leather build with canvas.
The classic "Chicago" colorway returned for the first time since 2014 this week, sparking resale prices of around $250.
3. Adidas x The Simpsons ZX 1000 "Flaming Moe's"
You've probably seen Adidas x South Park's 4/20-friendly "Towelie" Campus 80 shoe at this point. Well, Adi seems to be cultivating an affinity for animated shows, now linking with The Simpsons for a fun "Flaming Moe's" ZX 1000.
It's inspired by the wild cocktail – a mix of cough medicine and fire – that Moe Szyslak serves at his tavern in the third season. Previously, Adidas nodded to The Simpsons' "Krusty Burger" for a different ZX 1000. Check out Moe's style on Adidas' site for $120.
4. Converse x Keith Haring
Another funky collab comes courtesy of Keith Haring x Converse, which partnered for the first time ever on 3 pairs of high-top Chuck 70s, a hiking shoe and 2 other low-top silhouettes.
They each feature unique imaginings of Haring's signature dancing figures, available for no more than $120 on Converse's site.
