Cara Delevigne and KARL LAGERFELD Drop “CARA LOVES KARL” Collection
| LAST UPDATE 09/13/2022
The relationship between Karl Lagerfeld and his muse, Cara Delevigne, was truly one of a kind. Luckily, we see it continued through fashion in the latest collaboration between the late designer's self-titled brand and the British model herself. Delevigne worked side by side with Hun Kim, the design director at KARL LAGERFELD, to develop the latest ready-to-wear collection, CARA LOVES KARL, now available online and in various pop-up stores worldwide.
When asked about her relationship with Lagerfeld, Delevigne remembers first meeting the brilliant fashion mogul when she was cast to walk in the spring 2012 Chanel couture show. Cara recalls Lagerfeld walking up to her and telling her, "you are meant to be here," and having his words of reassurance and encouragement meant everything to the young model. Looking back at that moment and her career, the Only Murders in the Building actress credits Lagerfeld for changing her life "in ways I'm [she] still unable to comprehend." This collection is a true ode to their everlasting relationship and shared ideologies.
The Cara Loves Karl capsule features a mix of ready-to-wear genderless pieces and accessories in a very Karl Lagerfeld-toned palette of black, white, and navy. "I've never understood how we can define clothing with a gender," Delevingne said when discussing the collection. "It was important to me that the collection not be just unisex, but genderless." The collection features a variety of suit pieces, button-down shirts, elongated vests, combat boots, and more. However, if you're looking to shop Delevigne's favorite piece of the collection, check out the reversible bomber, perfect for "day and night," according to the model herself!

Speaking further on the collection, Delevingne says, "I'm honored to be able to partner with the only fashion house that carries Karl's name and get the chance to make a personal contribution to his legacy. It's been great to share my ideas with the creative team, have a say in the designs, and just have some fun in the process." Cara Loves Karl is represented by a futuristic campaign approach immortalizing Lagerfeld and Delevigne's relationship through digital avatars, so make sure to check it out here.
