Raheem Sterling Models BAPE and Clarks Originals Collection

It's never too early to start stocking your closet for chilly weather, and BAPE and Clarks Originals are offering a few creative footwear options from their Fall/Winter 2020 capsule collection for your consideration.

Professional soccer player Raheem Sterling from Manchester City is the face and feet of this limited partnership focused on Clarks' beloved Wallabee and Desert Boot, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

Sterling is an ideal candidate to represent Clarks, as he's from Kingston, Jamaica, a country and culture that acted as a liaison in familiarizing Americans and other Westerners with Clarks' looks during the 1960s and '70s. When he was just five years old, Sterling moved to London with his mother.

Keeping both shoe models close to their roots in terms of structure, the Wallabee comes in two colorways – pink and turquoise – wrapped with BAPE's signature camo print. A pair of triangle tags dangle from the right foot shoelaces and match the top color of either the pink or turquoise style.

One notable adjustment to the foundation of the Wallabee is the unique sole featuring a shark tooth cut, a nod toward Bape's shark motif.

Meanwhile, the suede Desert Boot in either light or dark brown is decorated in laser-printed BAPE artwork that varies from the left foot to the right. The motto "Ape Shall Never Kill Ape" appears on the toebox and the tongue.

Specific prices are unknown, but the collection will be available on A Bathing Ape's digital store and at the Clarks Originals Berwick Street Store in its hometown of London beginning Saturday, Aug. 8th.
