Hot shoes for an extra Cole world. 🔥
J. Cole has clearly been putting in work behind the scenes. Just days after making his return to music with the "Lewis Street" pack, Puma is spilling all the tea surrounding the rapper's signature basketball shoe.
Dubbed the RS-Dreamer for Cole's dreamlike ambitions, the low-top sneaker represents the two parties' first footwear release together since combining talents back in February to create a line under "The Dreamer" brand.
"When said out loud, all the best dreams sound crazy," Cole said about the name. "Dreamer was created with the belief that, still, we must follow ours, no matter how unachievable they may seem to others."
Artists and clothing brands tend to offer more lifestyle-focused products, but Cole has a profound love for hoops, so it's only right that his debut kicks were bred to ball.
Puma Hoops players like Kyle Kuzma, DeAndre Ayton, Rudy Gay and others have been previewing the color contrasting shoe inside the NBA bubble over the past weeks.
Not many rappers can say pro basketball stars are wearing their shoe; not many hoopers can say they have their favorite rapper on their feet. Yet the appeal of the RS-Dreamer goes beyond Cole's involvement.
That's because this model utilizes “RS foam” cushioning from Puma's running line for extra comfort and movement response. Other unique design elements include a "disruptive cord lacing system" as well as signature ProFoam within the midsole to support bounce.
Along with enhanced performance, Cole and Puma hope buyers will feel good enough to wear them both on the court and off. "The highest level of on-court performance meets the highest level of aesthetic design for daily wear," Cole explained. "Once again, you can hoop in the same shoes you wore outside."
You can cop the RS-Dreamer at stores like Foot Locker for $125 starting this Friday, July 31.
