Nike and Ben & Jerry's are linking for a sweet and summery SB Dunk Low, the "Chunky Dunky," dropping in less than a week. 🔥
Following a leak on social media in late March, Nike confirmed the highly anticipated collaboration over the weekend. Inspired by the "Chunky Monkey" flavor and signature pint packaging from the Vermont-based ice cream company, the sneakers incorporate several familiar elements.
The green outsole points toward the lush pasture featured on the base of each container, while a hairy, leather cow faux-print overlay represents the forever-hungry cow. On the heel are a few puffy clouds floating under an orange Nike wordmark tastefully presented in Ben & Jerry's font.
Covering the lining and insole is a tie-dye print paying homage to the many hippies who call Vermont home. And while Chunky Dunkys won't come with any ice cream, Nike added a melting gold swoosh to make up for the absence of a lukewarm scoop.
As the cherry on top, Ben & Jerry's reminds wearers to make the most of their summer, even though the season will likely be tainted by the coronavirus. "If It's Not Fun, Why Do It?" the tag on the inside of the tongue reads.
Starting at the fair price of $100, the shoes will be released on Saturday, May 23, in select skate stores around the world, followed by a drop online via the SNKRS app on Tuesday, May 26.
You'll have to move swiftly if you want to cop a pair through retail, though. Early resellers are asking for roughly $1,600 on StockX.
