Adidas and Prada are joining forces again for a highly functional sneaker featuring hints of luxury fashion in the A+P LUNA ROSSA 21, pulling some inspiration from Prada's speedy Luna Rossa AC75 sailboat.
Playing to a specific sport seems to be a favorite trend for the German athleticwear company and the Italian fashion house. The target wearer for its four Superstar styles in September were bowlers while the LUNA ROSSA 21 is meant to appeal to sailors (and even skaters).
It's constructed with Adi's sustainable, ocean-friendly and high-performance recycled polyester, Primegreen, as well as a rubbery outer shell to prevent injuries caused by slipping and water from sneaking through and drenching your foot. Perfect for the boat in more than one way, some may say.
Still, this shoe offers plenty of drip (pun intended) for those not planning to hit the seas any time soon, including the sleek white finish, the semi-hidden laces and the subtle branding, highlighted by a red Prada strap on the heel and a Prada logo etched into the outside midsole.
For an idea of how they look in person, frequent Three Stripes collaborator Sean Wotherspoon was rocking them a few weeks ago. Catch the wave!
