This Adidas x Parley sneaker is the second 4D entry in the two brands' growing partnership, styled in a Cream White/Aluminum colorway that builds on the initial black and blue product from last July. (Though some would say this look actually makes for a more summery vibe.)

The 4D – referencing the distinct "resin" sole meant to absorb and, fittingly, recycle the wearer's step effort – is constructed of mostly Primeblue yarn made from upcycled ocean shore plastic. Parley for the Oceans collects the plastic and helps create the proprietary material.

Keeping it green: 2021 marks the five-year anniversary of Adi and Parley's limited 2016 World Oceans Day release as well, the start of their work together. If you look closely, this newest colorway features an identical parallel wavy knit pattern.

"So much work has happened behind the scenes since we launched our partnership with Adidas," said Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley, at the time. "We are creating new standards, new materials and technologies that are so different to those the sporting goods industry is used to. It is an ongoing challenge, but we achieved the first step."

Check for the shoe exclusively on the Adidas app come Friday, Jan. 15. The sustainable approach leads to a bit of a steeper price tag, retailing at about $300.
