Where Is Lil Nas X? His Long Social Media Absence Has Fans Frightened
| LAST UPDATE 02/16/2022
Few artists are as active online as Lil Nas X, so when fans noticed the 22-year-old's unexplained radio silence during the past month, they began to worry. Now, some theories are emerging about his disappearance…

Lil Nas' last post on social media happened on Dec. 8th when he shared the below clip where he teased the idea that he might be bisexual. Ironically, the last tweet he liked on Dec. 13th was about his Internet hiatus: "It's been 8 days since Lil Nas X last tweeted.. I don't know what to do with myself."
Accelerating the fear among fans is that he announced he had tested positive for the coronavirus near the end of last year. "I'm not sure whether I've had the Omarion or Alicia Keys variant of Covid but this has not been a fun journey," he wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Several members of his team caught the virus first, forcing him to pull out of an event called the Jingle Ball in the UK. "Hope you guys have an amazing time. I love you and I'll see you soon," he said.
Over the past couple of weeks, an increasing number of tweets have popped up – seemingly from real fans and not bots – expressing the mutual hope that Lil Nas is "ok." Some are even starting to suspect that his disappearance is part of a larger "PR stunt," a tactic he's damn near perfected.
Where is Lil Nas X, for real?
Assuming he's recovered from the virus (hopefully), maybe he's prepping new music. His debut album 'Montero' dropped back in September and earned a nod for Album of the Year at the upcoming Grammys.
He then shared a video shouting out a handful of artists he'd like to work with, including Playboi Carti, Tyler, The Creator, Willow Smith and more.
While Lil Nas' team hasn't offered any news on his status, he was reportedly photographed alongside Kevin Abstract from Brockhampton on either Jan. 15th or 16th.
Only time will tell what really lies ahead!
