Ronald McDonald is turning into a hypebeast. According to a leaked memo via Business Insider, Travis Scott and McDonald's are joining forces for an upcoming collaboration.
In the memo, McDonald's US chief marketing officer Morgan Flatley paints La Flame as "the definition of big in culture," referencing his Nike footwear line, Resse's Puffs cereal collab and Fortnite concert. She also claims the 28-year-old is "a true fan of McDonald's and our craveable, iconic food."
She continues, "He will resonate and spark excitement with our youthful multicultural customers, and has a few surprises to delight our crew and ensure they are part of the excitement."
Chatter around an apparel-only partnership between Travis and the Golden Arches was first sparked a couple of weeks ago after the rumored collection appeared online.
Yet Travis isn't the only cultural figure McDonald's is working with behind the scenes, as Flatley hints that "a suite of big celebrities" are lined up.
"Travis is the first in a suite of big celebrities that resonate across segments and are true fans of our food and our brand," she writes. "We can't wait to share the rest of the lineup... in due time."
Mickie D's doesn't often rely on celebs for promotion, but their most recent Super Bowl ad featuring the "famous orders" of Kanye West and Patrick Mahomes, among others, seems to reflect a new focus on pop culture.
Either way, I'm starting to get hungry!
