As students at Georgia's Monroe Comprehensive High School logged on for the first day of their virtual school year, a couple of teachers welcomed them back with a bang. And a few bass kicks.
Mrs. Audri Williams and Ms. Callie Evans dropped a smooth remix of Jack Harlow's "WHATS POPPIN" complete with sick choreography led by the Tornadoes' cheerleading team.
With lines like, "Mrs. Williams, been poppin' / 2020 new school year droppin'" and "Class is in session know we just progressin' / Success is the topic but passing's the message," Williams' electric verse earned over 3.5 million views in less than a day.
Not saying she outdid DaBaby, Lil Wayne and Tory Lanez on the official "WHATS POPPIN" remix, but you can't deny Williams was floating. "Shawty not tryna teach. she tryna get signed," one Twitter user commented. Lol.
Rapper Lecrae also tweeted, "Whatever they payin this teacher...ain’t enough." Big facts!
Evans, who's also the coach of Monroe's Cheerleading squad, wrote on IG that she wanted "to be able to get my students excited for what’s to come" in the midst of uncertainty.
Williams echoed this mood in her own caption: "What better way to release all of the anxiety, doubts & fears of the school year than to dance & turn up." We NEED a whole tape!
