T.I. wants all the smoke with 50 Cent in a Verzuz battle. 💨

As the latest move to spur 50 Cent to participate in a hit-for-hit challenge, T.I. proclaimed on All Def's Roast This roundtable that his catalog is "doper" than 50's regardless of commercial success.

"I'm doper," the Atlanta rapper said. "I don't care who sold however many records, I don't care who has more number ones whether that means I'm up, meaning I have more number ones, less number ones, more records sold, less records sold. I don't care about that. I think my catalog is doper."

He explained that with the longevity of his music, stretching from 2001 up until now, listeners are treated to a more "diversified" sound, something 50 can't offer.

However, Tip also admitted that 50 Cent wasn't even his first choice. The 39-year-old rapper would've preferred to take on JAY-Z, though he conceded that Hov probably doesn't have any interest in doing a battle.

"Just to be honest with you, man, I want Jay!" Tip said. "Who can see Jay sitting down to do a Verzuz battle? If I'm a billionaire, I'm not finna do that, either, but me and 50 ain't that far off."

Talk around T.I. taking on 50 Cent in a Verzuz showdown was sparked earlier this week, as Tip posted a three-minute video on Instagram requesting the freshly-turned 45-year-old “pull your ass up with 20 of your records" and "get this work."

To further provoke 50, T.I. reminded him how Kanye West "dusted yo ass off" when both of their third studio albums, Curtis and Graduation, went head-to-head in 2007. Kanye, of course, came out on top with an astonishing 957,000 units sold compared to 50 Cent's 691,000.

At least T.I. wished him a happy birthday, though. "Appreciate you for staying down, remaining healthy, alive and free for so long," he said.

Unsurprisingly, 50 was more than ready to troll. He responded by suggesting that "somebody passed TI the weed they gave smokey in [the movie] Friday."

He also shared an old clip of Tip advocating for a police tip hotline with a snippet of his verse from the G-Unit song “You So Tough” playing at the end. Following T.I.'s infamous 2007 arrest for gun possession, 50 Cent sneak dissed him by hinting that he may have snitched for a lighter sentence.

What’s today’s mathematics? Sh*t ain’t addin’ up / Get knocked with 10 machine guns, only get 12 months,” he raps.

As for who has the most "hits," that title is split. Looking at Billboard, T.I. (56) has more overall Hot 100 placements than 50 (40). But 50 edges out his peer in the top 10 with 13 total entries, two more than Tip.
