T.I.'s Daughter Deyjah Harris Speaks On His Troublesome OB-GYN Comments

Deyjah Harris is coming clean about how her father T.I.'s watchdog mentality regarding her sexual health has impacted their relationship and her feelings. 😳

In November, T.I. sparked controversy when he claimed on the Ladies Like Us podcast that he accompanies his 18-year-old daughter during her gynecologist appointments "to check her hymen" and make sure she isn't having sex.

"This is the thing," he said, according to MadameNoire. "Deyjah's 18, just graduated high school now and she's attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen."

On Monday's episode of T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, which runs on VH1, Deyjah tearfully confessed to her cousins that she was "very shocked, hurt, angry, embarrassed" after hearing about her dad's comments and that she "couldn't have said 'no'" to his requests to join her.

"I'm scrolling on Twitter and I see I'm tagged in a post and all I see is 'gynecologist,' and I didn't even need to read the whole title," she said. "I just knew. My heart sank. I'm very shocked, hurt, angry, embarrassed.

"I'm embarrassed, for sure. I'm trying to put it in the back of my mind so I'm not really thinking about it. I know it's not healthy. But I've been doing that since I was a child."

As one may expect, this bizarre dynamic has had a negative impact on their relationship over the past few years, and she's "looking at him differently because of this."

Making the revelation even more disturbing is that Deyjah claimed that T.I. approaches her brothers' sex lives much differently, sometimes joking that 15-year-old King will one day be some woman's "baby daddy."

Yet, T.I. has offered a different reaction to the situation, telling his mom, Violeta Latrice, that he was trying to make a truthful joke with "major embellishments" for entertainment, presumably.

"I told a joke that was laced in truth, also [with] a lot of major embellishments," Tip said, per Complex. "I was speaking past tense. People thought I was speaking present day. I never put a sign on the door – that's absolutely false."

It should also be said that the idea of testing for virginity doesn't have any scientific merit.

Viewers of the show aired out their frustrations with T.I. for his actions, especially after hearing that he avoided having a serious conversation with Deyjah to preserve his "energy.”
