Who y'all feeling? 🔥
Staying on the Verzuz tip following Juicy J's recent comments, Swizz Beats and Timbaland announced on Tuesday afternoon that Rick Ross and 2 Chainz would be leading the next virtual clash, dubbed "The High Rollers Edition."
With 2 Chainz representing Atlanta and Rozay putting Miami on his back, this battle will be all about showcasing the best of the best from the South.
"Let’s Go the paperwork is in," Swizz captioned an Instagram post about the event. 2 Chainz wrote, "Down by Law vs. The Miami Boys." Festivities are scheduled for Thursday, August 6th, around 8 p.m. ET on the Verzuz IG and Apple Music.
You know social media was crackin' once this news was made public. Like always, it's worth noting that 2 Chainz has 39 Hot 100 hits, 10 less than Rozay's 49. They both have two top 10 bangers. Personally, I'm hoping they play their "Party Heart" collab and call that one a tie.
While Rozay tends to keep to himself, 2 Chainz has been eager to participate in one of these virtual hip-hop celebrations for a minute. At first, the 42-year-old challenged Meek Mill after comparing his career and catalog to a few other big names.
"Somebody say, "[Lil] Wayne," but he been rappin' before all of us. We all came up on Tune, and I don't think he would even do nothin' like that," 2 Chainz said in this clip from April. He continued, "Somebody said, "Meek," and I thought that'd be dope. So, let's do it, Meek."
Meek then let his "brother" 2 Chainz know in the comments section that he'd be "respectfully bowing out" of the challenge to stick to watching. Chainz also looked toward fellow ATL trailblazers, such as T.I., Jeezy, Gucci Mane and Ludacris.
Finally, 2 Chainz has found a worthy opponent in the Boss.
