Hard to believe March 31, 2020 marked one year since Nipsey Hussle was shockingly murdered outside of his Marathon Clothing store in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Crenshaw. He was only 33 years old at the time and at the peak of his life and career.
Nipsey's death remains a terrible loss for hip-hop and the entire Los Angeles community he was focused on improving. But his light and impact will continue to shine through his timeless music and Neighborhood Nip Foundation. 🙌

Sean posted a photo of Nipsey performing for a bunch of kids and brightening their days. As part of his upcoming Detroit 2 album, Sean also has an unreleased song with Nipsey that Hit-Boy previewed for the first time last weekend.
The Game was one of Nipsey's closest friends having also grown up around the Los Angeles area, and his death hit him especially hard in 2019.
He shared a sincere tribute to Nipsey's life and impact in an Instagram post. "You have truly touched the hearts of people all around the world," he wrote. "Your face is everywhere... your music is timeless & your words are heard loud & clear."
Khaled was another close friend and collaborator of Nipsey's. Along with John Legend, they earned the 2020 Grammy award for Best Rap/Sung Performance with "Higher."

Coming from similar neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Nipsey was like a big brother to Roddy. In 2020, after Nip passed, they both earned their first-ever Grammy together for Best Rap Performance with "Racks in the Middle."
