Though Pantone believes the colors of 2021 are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating Yellow, a combination meant to be aspirational and hopeful, Playboi Carti is making a strong case for a 'Whole Lotta Red' instead.

The numbers are in, and Carti has topped the Billboard 200 album chart for the first time in his career. 'WLR' pushed 100,000 equivalent units in its debut week, fueled by over 126 million on-demand streams, per Billboard.

By taking over the No. 1 spot, Carti dethrones the two-week leader Taylor Swift and her surprise album 'evermore,' which sold 71,000 copies last week. All told, the project has garnered more than 500,000 sales since its release on Dec. 11.

Makes sense: Carti reacted to the achievement in his signature "Cartinese" type on Twitter, expressing disbelief and a ton of love for his dedicated fanbase: "!!!!! wT* . wE r # 1 > mY fANs . >."

Unfortunately, it'll likely be a minute before these fans can experience 'WLR' in its ideal concert setting. Yet the Atlanta artist gave them a taste of what the live version could look and sound like when he performed a free, live stream NYE show at an event called Cyberwurld.

(You may have also noticed this, umm, interesting photo of Carti contorting his body making its way around the internet.)

Just behind Playboi and T-Swift on the latest Billboard 200 update is Lil Durk, whose 16-song album 'The Voice' jumped all the way from No. 46 to No. 3 on the back of 66,000 new units.

That adds to the 23,000 copies the Chicago rapper tallied after only one day of tracking since he made the unusual scheduling choice to drop on a Thursday, not a Friday. He labeled himself the GOAT.

Going crazy! To celebrate, Durk and Memphis's Pooh Shiesty delivered the visuals for their street anthem "Back In Blood," racking up 4 million views in roughly 48 hours.
