Two of hip-hop's most respected figures, Nas and Hit-Boy, are joining forces for what's sure to be a monumental collab project. 🔥
The 46-year-old rhymer hailing from Queens took to Instagram to give his nearly 6 million followers a dramatic look at the pair vibing in the studio while Mozart's "Requiem, K 626: Lacrimosa" approaches its peak.
"I’ve been trying to do this with this man for years," Nas confesses in the clip. "I finally got that time, that alignment. ... I’m super, super proud."
Nas originally announced the album in late April during Hip-Hop Loves NY, a virtual fundraiser hosted by the Universal Hip-Hop Museum and Mass Appeal benefitting healthcare workers in New York City.
"There’s some projects going on," he revealed. "One of them, I was working with Hit-Boy and I still am. And then there’s another, the one I’m working on that I don’t want to disclose. But Hit-Boy, that’s been fun working with him. So he played a snippet in the battles the other day, a snippet of something. We got some things."
About a month prior, the producer played a nice snippet in his beat battle against Boi-1da.
Fans should expect either a single or the full-length record to drop on the teased date of Friday, Aug. 21. If new Nasty Nas isn't enough, Hit-Boy is also cheffing a batch of music with Benny The Butcher.
