At the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards hosted on Tuesday night, Megan Thee Stallion led the pack with three wins for Hustler and Hip Hop Artist of the Year, as well as Best Collaboration for her "Savage (Remix)" with Beyoncé.
Following the show, she excitedly thanked BET via IG and basked in the limelight with her fans, known collectively as the Hotties: "REAL M* HOTGIRL S**T." Later, Meg teased her upcoming album, letting her over 16.6 million followers know that she's putting together a tracklist.
Roddy Ricch also had a big outing, taking home the titles for Song of the Year with "The Box" and Rap Album of the Year. He started with a whopping 11 nominations, second only to DaBaby's 12 nods.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was when T.I. presented the North Carolina rhymer Rapsody with the honor for Lyricist of the Year after pretending that he was only there to introduce her cypher.
Surprised, ecstatic, and admittedly holding back a few tears, Rapsody claimed, "This my first award for anything!" She added that being recognized for her bars was extra special 'cause "women don’t always get represented for that."
Not many awards were presented during the actual ceremony, though. BET helped fill the void of live concerts by featuring standout performances from Big Sean, City Girls, and Lil Baby and 42 Dugg. Turn up!
