'Born With Horns' will be MGK's first release since 'Tickets To My Downfall' achieved #1 status in Oct. 2020. "'born with horns' the album. we’re back for round two…" MGK announced on Instagram.
Travis Barker served as executive producer on 'Tickets To My Downfall' as well, which marked MGK's first-career chart-topping album on the Billboard 200 and the first for his label, Diddy's Bad Boy, in longer than a decade.
Their lead single, "Papercuts," arrived with a Cole Bennett-directed video in which MGK rocks a (fake) shaved head and plays an oversized pink electric guitar. "The 'papercuts' video is finally here," Bennett, the Lyrical Lemonade founder, wrote. "This video concept came from a dream I had a few months ago, when I woke up I wrote it all down immediately.
"A couple weeks later @machinegunkelly sent me this song and I knew exactly what I needed to do. this is my first rock video and a step into a new world."
MGK had his own story about the creative process as well...
You'll recall Barker worked with another Cleveland artist, Trippie Redd, on his own alt rock-rap project earlier this year called 'Neon Shark vs. Pegasus.'
Prior to that, Travis dropped an EP with incarcerated Los Angeles rapper 03 Greedo and produced Lil Nas X's "F9mily."
