Lil Wayne Hits the Studio With Juelz Santana for ‘Carter VI’
| LAST UPDATE 09/04/2022
Our true hip-hop fans, this one's for you. Juelz Santana took to his Instagram page Friday to share some exclusive footage of him and Wayne in the studio - and well, we all know what that means. The two legends have rumored a collaborative mixtape, I Can't Feel My Face, for 15 years now (talk about overdue). And the day has finally come that we see some sort of progress. So let's see what's up!
The New York native Juelz Santana and hip-hop icon Lil Wayne go way back. The Dipset member and Tunechi are two of the biggest artists in the game, so when the news broke 15 years ago that they were planning to link up for I Can't Feel My Face, the people went wild. It was almost like it was too good to be true. And well, it was - until now, nearly two decades later. So what exactly do we know? Well.....
The mixtape was initially announced back in 2007 but has been delayed for a number of reasons for both Weezy and Juelz. Back in 2010, Wayne served eight months in jail, and two years later told MTV as soon as he got out, "Man, I think it's time we really capitalize on that." However, the There It Go artist got into some legal trouble of his own, which led to his New Jersey recording studio being raided by the police. Wayne explained, "He can't work how he wants to work because they shut down his studio," and that he "sent him some music and he didn't send them back in the time-fashion that I work." This evidently resulted in no mixtape, again. But nothing was going to stop these two legends at work. Fast forward to 2022, and here we are.

Just as Juelz launched his independent label, I Can't Feel My Face, the artist took to the 'gram to share the exciting news, "CARTER 6 In Process… #ICFMFLifeslstyle #WeInMotion #BackOutSide," and well, the fans went wild. The video showed the two of them hanging out in the studio before panning over to Weezy in the booth, doing his thing. So now that the news is out, we can't wait to see what they've been cooking up. Stay tuned.
