What would the rap game be like without Lil Uzi Vert? It's a question fans are being forced to consider (again) after the Philly rapper claimed in a since-deleted tweet that he was thinking about retirement.
"I'm dropping 2 more albums then I'm out," he wrote along with a peace sign and his signature earth and UFO emojis. It's a bold idea given that Uzi just released his highly-anticipated joint project with Future, 'Pluto x Baby Pluto,' which is expected to push 120,000 first-week copies.
Yet those who've followed Baby Pluto during the past couple of years have likely grown accustomed to this storyline. Near the beginning of 2019, and over a year prior to the release of his platinum album 'Eternal Atake,' Uzi declared that he was "done with music" and had "deleted everything." He added, "I wanna be normal. I wanna wake up in 2013."
As far as what Uzi's next two releases could sound like, he suggested to his 7.6 million Twitter fans that he and Future are "about 2 drop again."
While "the first one was strictly for the Skreeeetz" the follow-up will only be appropriate "for the BIGGEST SPEAKERS YOU OWN." (Booming tracks like "Sleeping On The Floor" and "Drankin N Smokin" are already pushing sound systems to the edge with fat bass kicks.)
Another unexpected moment in the 'Pluto x Baby Pluto' saga came when Uzi stole a designer scarf from his on-again, off-again girlfriend JT of City Girls and snuck it in the "That's It" video directed by Hype Williams. JT was a little upset: "I wanted to do another look with it."
