Whenever Lil Durk returns to Chicago for a concert, fans don't hesitate to show out and soak up every second. But his set at Lollapalooza this past weekend was interrupted due to a bad accident involving fireworks.

With over a decade of experience as a rapper, Durkio is at a point where he puts a lot of thought into his live shows. He even envisions how songs will sound with a band when he's recording new music! (Just a couple of months ago, 23,000 people watched him play the United Center.)

"When I make songs, I just be like, 'I could perform this with the band, or I could perform this on stage,'" he said during an Apple Music chat. "It's like, I gotta see the vision to it. So, any time I make somethin', I could tell the drummer like, 'Aye, when this part comes, I want you to go crazy!'"

Few things could've prepared Smurk for what happened at Lollapalooza. While wrapping up the hook on Pooh Shiesty's 4x Platinum "Back In Blood," a pyrotechnic exploded right in front of him and struck him in the eye. Still, he was able to finish his set before being rushed to the hospital.

The 29-year-old then shared a photo and a brief update on his status: "Due to the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I'ma take a break & focus on my health.  I finished my performance yesterday for my fans. Appreciate y'all."

The post earned support from Drake, G Herbo, Polo G, Lil Yachty and over a million others. Trippie Redd commented, "Damn get better bro."

No one would argue that Durk's break is undeserved. Not only did his latest album '7220' hit the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in March but he'll be featured on Calvin Harris' 'Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2' alongside Jorja Smith this Friday, Aug. 5th. Let's hope The Voice makes a full recovery.
