While fans had to wait over 5 years from Kendrick Lamar's 'DAMN.' to 'Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,' his next project could arrive in a more swift manner. Sounwave – one of K.Dot's favorite producers – just revealed they've already started putting fresh ideas together!

"We're starting on the next one now. That's never going to change, all the way from the 'Kendrick Lamar EP' [in 2009]. The next day, we started on 'Section.80.' It's just the ideas never stopped. That's one of the main reasons I go on tour with him, is to create the next album," he told Complex.

"There's no such thing as a vacation when you’re doing what you love. ... Personally, once I release an album like this, I don't go back to it for a while, because I lived it so much. It's like, it's not for me anymore. It's time for me to clear my head, so the best thing to do is to think about the next project."

Sounwave might be the person who's most familiar with Kendrick's creative process in the studio. Not only has he produced many of K.Dot's biggest hits – from "A.D.H.D" and "B***h Don't Kill My Vibe" to "Alright" and "Loyalty" feat. Rihanna – but he's credited on 72% of the songs across 'Mr. Morale.'

Kendrick is always eager to jump into his next project, but that doesn't mean his approach stays the same. Recall the 2017 interview below where he explained how 'DAMN.' is a hybrid of all his earlier albums, like 'To Pimp A Butterfly,' which was focused on sharing a message.

Fans can get the full Kendrick Lamar experience with his global Big Steppers Tour, also featuring pgLang prodigies Baby Keem and Tanna Leone.

K.Dot flooded his IG with fire concert photos and even added a personal message about why he feels like he's "forever underground." He wrote via an IG Story, "Rap has truly helped my expansion of self. Beyond the perception of who I believed to be."
