Juice WRLD – Legends Never Die
Nearly seven months after his tragic passing at only 21 years old at Chicago's Midway International Airport, Juice WRLD's team shared the welcome news that his first posthumous project, Legends Never Die, would be dropping this Friday, July 10.
Along with the dreamlike cover art came a note about how the 15-track album will place a focus on "the collaborators that meant so much to Juice." One of those collaborators is Halsey, who appears on the surprise single "Life's A Mess."
On the heels of another highly anticipated posthumous release, Pop Smoke's Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, Juice's 999 crew hopes this project will deliver "some reprieve to everyone during these unsettling times." Amen.
Earlier Monday afternoon, a video was also uploaded to Juice's social media accounts that captures him in his element, freestyling next to his girlfriend Ally Lotti.
During the Fourth of July, his creative director, who goes by GUWAC, tweeted that Interscope executives were "sobbing and sniffling" for more than five minutes after listening to the release in full. This one's going to be heavy. 😢
Aminé – Limbo
With Aminé's breakout album OnePointFive approaching its two-year anniversary, the Portland-bred rapper is gearing up to deliver his fifth full-length offering, Limbo, on August 7.
To get ready, you can listen to him and Young Thug on "Compensating," which came together with the help of producer T-Minus. In an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Aminé recalled the one and only time he met Thug at a festival. It's an unforgettable memory for the 26-year-old, as Thugger referred to him as a "young legend."
Aminé has been pretty active this year, emerging from a brief hiatus with the Ol' Dirty Bastard-inspired "Shimmy" in February and, later, "Riri," an homage to none other than Rihanna.
Black Thought – Streams Of Thought Vol. 3: Cain & Able
For the more lyrically-obsessed heads, Black Thought also announced that Streams Of Thought Vol. 3: Cain & Able will be coming on July 31 with appearances from Killer Mike, Pusha T, ScHoolboy Q and Swizz Beatz.
"It's time," wrote The Roots MC in an Instagram post. “Thought Vs. Everybody,” the lead single, is expected to drop this Friday.
Entirely produced by Sean C., fans haven't seen an entry in the Streams Of Thought series since Vol. 2 arrived in fall 2018. Earlier that year, 9th Wonder and the Soul Council crafted the beats for the saga's five-song opener.
