Can't blame him – Jaden is a pretty tight name. 💯

On the heels of releasing his first signature shoe with New Balance, the Vision Racer, as well as an indie rock-inspired single called "Cabin Fever" to celebrate, Jaden Smith sat down for a chat with Zane Lowe as part of an Apple Music special, At Home With Jaden.

When they weren't talking about his fledgling love for surfing, the 22-year-old opened up about how his sister Willow influenced his decision to remove his last name and go by just Jaden as an artist.

"I realized that Willow changed her name to Willow at some point in time and that she was no longer Willow Smith," he explained. "It took me a while because if you look Willow Smith up, it’ll still come up. But then it took me a while to see that it was just Willow. And I was like, 'Yo. That’s so strong. You feel like you don’t have to say your last name. You’re just Willow.'"

So, these days, Jaden likes to "create different characters for myself," meaning his musical side gets his first name, while "Jaden Smith, that’s 501(c)(3), that’s acting in movies." He continued, "I wanted to just make that little distinction there, just a little bit so I could just [note] different things are happening."

Not totally sure on the side that's focused on style and design, but whatever one it is, it's highly creative. His MSFTSrep brand just unearthed its hippieish Trippy Summer line of clothing featuring tie-dye T-shirts, hoodies and psychoactive shorts.
