Though Lil Baby recently promised "this summer mines" in an IG Story, Jack Harlow is hoping to upset Baby and take control of the summer himself.
The 24-year-old revealed his sophomore album 'Come Home The Kids Miss You' is dropping on Friday, May 6th. Here's what fans can expect.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jack noted he's leaning into his introspective side, an approach reflected on songs like "Rendezvous" and "River Road." He explained, "My new s**t is much more serious," and added that his single "Nail Tech" is "probably my least favorite song on the album."
"Right now, my message is letting muh'f*****s know I love hip-hop, and I'm one of the best in my generation," he added. "You can't do that with nonchalant, like, 'Ayee, I got the b*****s,' in clever ways over and over again. I got to dig deeper this time."
Jack also feels like he's in the best shape of his life thanks to his decision to stop drinking in 2021. "It's one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. I'm more focused than ever. ... Now, I feel raw feelings I felt like when I was 8 years old. I'm excited about the music. I'm charged up right now," he told Apple Music.
It's also worth pointing out that the release date of May 6th for his new album doubles as National Nurses Day, possibly a nod to Jack's affinity for female nurses. "Even though I love you, you should say it first / She in med school, I wanna date a nurse," he raps on "21C/Delta."
Jack didn't spill any of the featured artists yet, but there's chatter about whether Drake will pop up.
After visiting his $100 million Toronto mansion last fall, Jack joined Drizzy for a quick vacation in Turks and Caicos where they turned up on a boat and gave a local musician $20k in cash.
Would you wanna hear a Jack x Drake record?
