The annual XXL Freshman issue shines a light on the hottest up and coming acts across hip-hop and this year's 2020 "Believe The Future" edition is packed with heavy hitters. 🔥

Premiered earlier this week, the latest cover features Jack Harlow, Rod Wave, NLE Choppa, Baby Keem, Chika and seven others.

Among those who shared their excitement was Harlow, the first Kentucky native to make the list. He told his over 1 million Instagram followers that he's been "fantasizing" about this moment ever since middle school when he would buy "physical copies of XXL."

Polo G wrote in a post, "Now Every Day it’s 1st Class not bad for a kid who neva made his 1st class," and congratulated everyone for their recognition. Fivio Foreign, the oldest person on the cover at 32 years old, offered a simple message: "Don’t stop workin!"

Meanwhile, Chika tweeted that "life is cool" after dropping out of college as a freshman and joked, "cat’s out the bag! or dog. who cares. I’M A 2020 XXL FRESHMAN. me n my ghostwriter, front and center."

One rising star who was supposed to be highlighted was the late Pop Smoke, who XXL claimed was the first Freshman chosen back in January. Unfortunately, they couldn't reward him his spot posthumously due to "circumstances out of our control."

An unreleased interview with Pop is included in the issue hitting shelves on Sept. 1. As for the always entertaining cyphers, "WHATS POPPIN" producer Jetsonmade will handle the beats.
