If you've logged onto Twitter at all in the past couple of days, there's a good chance you've seen a variation of this trending meme that places a carefree, upbeat pop song next to a shot of a man who's not playing any games.
Per Twitter's Events page, it turns out the dude in the photo on the left is a rising 20-year-old French drill rapper who goes by Jnr Slice. He's from the town of Hem in Northern France.
Before an AirPod was casually added, the original shot was pulled from the beginning of the third season finale of a prank show Jnr unintentionally (?) starred in (not totally sure – speaking French isn't my strong suit) called "Le Pire Stagiaire" or "The Worst Intern."
From the look of things, he wasn't really in the mood for jokes after being set up by his manager, sound engineer and other members of his team.
Even Lil Yachty got in on the action using Chris Brown's 2007 hit "Forever." With lyrics like, "It's like I've waited my whole life for this one night / It's gon' be me, you and the dance floor," there's no caption needed.
Twitter user @NOTLINEmary appears to have kicked off the thread of funny interpretations, though she used Pop Smoke's "44 Bulldog" for her song of choice, which aligns well with Jnr's straight-faced expression.
While Jnr hasn't dropped a project on streaming services yet, you can still peep the monochrome video for his latest single "Kush Drill." It's kind of hittin', tbh.
He has nearly 150,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, 81,000 Twitter followers and 17,000 Instagram fans, so here's your chance to tap in!
