Following recent rumblings of a possible collaboration between Fortnite and Travis Scott, Epic Games, creator of Fortnite, shared a news release Monday confirming details surrounding the "Astronomical" event.
Billed as an "other-worldly experience inspired by Cactus Jack’s creations," La Flame will headline five in-game concerts over the span of three days beginning Thursday, April 23, per the announcement.
He'll also debut a never-before-heard song as part of the series.
Starting April 21, gamers will see Scott as the latest addition to the Icon Series, allowing them to purchase his outfits, emotes and more. Back in March, a draft skin complete with a pair of shoes resembling the Houston rapper’s edition of Jordan 1s leaked online.
There will even be in-game Astronomical Challenges that players can complete to unlock additional free gear.
As an incentive to attend any of the featured Astronomical shows, players will be rewarded with an Astroworld Cyclone Glider and a pair of psychedelic loading screens.
Fortnite hosted its first-ever in-game concert headlined by popular electronic DJ and producer Marshmello in Feb. 2019. Drawing over 10 million characters/attendees, they set a new record for most concurrent players, according to GameRant.
This past weekend, Daquan reported several leaks suggesting that Fortnite was gearing up to turn its virtual playground into an Astroworld of sorts for a Scott concert.
Among other hints, users discovered a concert stage being constructed on an island near Sweaty Sands. They also noticed a glowing, purplish orb in the sky radiating sounds similar to those heard on “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM."
Check out the full schedule for the five live La Flame shows below. (Hopefully, Travis' character won't fall through the stage like that one time he performed with Drake. 😂)
It's lit!! 🎡
