Breezy and Thugger hopped on Instagram Stories on Monday (April 6) to share the unexpected news that they're working on a new project together.
"ME AND THUGGA THUGGA @thuggerthugger1 Got a mixtape coming soon 🐍🐍🐍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” Brown wrote.
Thug then co-signed the announcement by reposting the message on his Story with a quiet emoji.
No other details surrounding the project, like the title or release date, were made available.
However, later on Monday, Breezy posted a graphic on Instagram that seemed to read “Aeko,” which is the name of his 4-month-old son. Fans quickly started speculating that this could be the name of a potential album, which would follow the approach of Brown's friend DJ Khaled, who titled his most recent album, Father Of Asahd, after his son.
While Thug and CB have worked with many of the same artists, including Drake, Gunna, Trippie Redd and even Justin Bieber, the two have only released one song as collaborators.
In 2017, they came together with Future on the single “High End,” which appeared on CB's 45-song mixtape, Heartbreak on a Full Moon.
Yet it appears the two artists, who are close to the same age, have been getting to know one another. A clip of them hanging out and playing basketball emerged just hours before they teased the joint mixtape.
Separately, Thug recently dropped a single with Gunna and Turbo appropriately titled "Quarantine Clean." Meanwhile, CB has been highly active on TikTok, garnering over 2 million followers in just a few weeks.
Fans were split on how to interpret the news of a collaborative project on Monday. You can scroll through some of the responses below. 🤔
