Soulja Boy hit the refresh button. 😎
Rarely does Soulja Boy get the credit he deserves for paving the path toward rap stardom in the internet age. Taking after early adopters like Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane, he also helped propel the trend of face tattoos that blankets hip-hop today.
But Soulja is approaching 30 years old and he wants to extend his career to other avenues, including film and TV. That's one of the main reasons all of his face ink is nearly gone.
It's been a long time coming, as he started laser removal treatments all the way back in 2016. He revealed to Say Cheese TV at the time that he got his first tattoos around the age of 16, making his mom "mad as hell."
He continued with a shrug, "I ain't care. I had made a whole bunch of money." You can't knock him for keeping things a hundred.
He went on to say that he thinks his face tattoos have prevented him from gaining ground in the entertainment industry where white executives likely rush to pin him as a "gangster" and a "savage." Soulja also admitted that he's often had his face airbrushed in headshots.
The beauty sessions come with a temporary physical price, though. "It hurt," Soulja said. "It hurt real bad."
During the past few years, Young Draco has been offering regular updates on his progress. Now, signature pieces like the Gucci logo on his forehead are basically erased, and fans are doing a double-take.
One of his latest selfie clips amassed over two million views on Twitter.
