If you enjoy learning about lavish, diamond-encrusted jewelry, pay attention: DJ Khaled just graced the timeline of his nearly 22 million Instagram followers with a custom chain from his buddy and collaborator Drake.
The piece captures the synergy between the duo and their respective labels: Drake's October's Very Own (OVO) and its owl logo and Khaled's We The Best represented by a lion's head. The latter's signature key motif acts as the foundation.
"Shout out to my brother Drake," Khaled says in the clip. “Thank you so much. This gift means so much to me. Drake got me a beautiful gift. This is an owl and a key. Owl and key. Key and owl. And then it got the lion head ’cause you know I represent the lion."
Later during the same reveal, the 44-year-old mentions how Drizzy is wearing his own version of the chain at the beginning of the "POPSTAR" video before Justin Bieber takes his place.
"Khaled and Drake; Drake and Khaled," he comments. "It’s always special when we connect. Look at this, come on, fully iced out. It’s so heavy, the quality. ... You watch the 'POPSTAR' video, Drake is wearing one, now I got one. It’s called brothers. Drake, thank you so much for your friendship. This is beautiful. Love you for life."
This collaboration, paired with the club-friendly "GREECE," marked a milestone moment for Drake, giving him his 39th and 40th placements in the top 10 of the Hot 100, more than anyone else.
Nearly four years ago, The Boy congratulated Khaled on the birth of his first son Asahd by flying a jeweler down to Miami to deliver a shiny necklace dripping with a pair of engraved, connected keys.
