Kendrick Lamar is set to headline Denmark's famous Roskilde Festival in late June this upcoming summer and he could be bringing brand new music along for the international trip.
A news release published by Roskilde hinted at Kendrick's "new material on the way," fueling speculation that he could deliver the long-awaited follow-up to 2017's 'DAMN.' within the next few months.
The release continues, "We have great expectations of Kendrick Lamar’s show on the Orange Stage." Before COVID-19 shut down concerts around the world, Kenny was announced as the headliner for the 2020 event.
Man! During an interview with his cousin and collaborator Baby Keem for i-D Magazine back in October, Keem suggested that both he and Kenny's albums "were supposed to be out" if it weren't for the pandemic.
Kenny also discussed his often lengthy approach to "thinking about how I’m gonna execute a new sound." He explained, "I can’t do the same thing over and over. I need something to get me excited."
Keem agreed, saying, "Because people don’t know that you on some new s**t till you start doing new s**t. And if you can’t do the new s**t then they ain’t gonna know that you on the new s**t and they’ll keep asking for old s**t, but I think everybody knows now that I’m on some completely different s**t."
Looks fire: Supporting acts at Roskilde range from Tyler, The Creator, Anderson .Paak, DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion to Haim and Thom Yorke. Unfortunately, tickets are totally sold out, according to the site.
