A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator and the so-called "Godfather of Punk" Iggy Pop are giving fans an inside look at what it's like to live the "Life of a Rock Star" with Gucci's newest men's tailoring campaign.
Harmony Korine, director of cult-classic movies like Kids, Gummo and Spring Breakers, captured the carefree mood of the trio back in February in a tropical, lounge-like Los Angeles home.
Also starring in the campaign are Iggy's two pet parrots: one with white feathers named Biggy Pop and a blue hyacinth macaw.
In an accompanying video, Rocky and Tyler – real-life buddies – excitedly hop out of a vintage car as they arrive at the sunny crib. They're greeted by Iggy Pop, who's rocking an eccentric belted suit covered in leopard print with the blue macaw perched on his arm.
All three are wearing Gucci's tailoring collection while having a dance party soundtracked by Cerrone's 1977 disco jam "Supernature." (They can't even sit still for a fresh Spaghetti dinner!)
Tyler's look, in particular, includes a monogram cardigan vest and, below, a red corduroy suit with tasseled loafers.
"A certain type of fun is also portrayed and the idea of how one’s obsession with appearances can create a kind of common ground that can become a sort of brotherhood," creative director of Gucci Alessandro Michele said. "It was beautiful to see these three men together, seemingly different but very similar."
On the topic of collaborations between rappers and luxury houses, Givenchy just debuted a goofy 15-second ad featuring Playboi Carti shouting various pronunciations of the brand. (Signature baby voice included, of course.)
You can watch the spot crafted by Givenchy's new creative director Matthew M. Williams below.
