PlayStation and Zara Go Multiplayer on a Sneaker Collab No One Asked For
| LAST UPDATE 11/30/2021
Would you rock a PlayStation sneaker? 🤔
Fact: Gamers are eagerly waiting for the holiday season for their chance to cop the new PlayStation 5 with exclusive games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank. Not to mention the array of fun accessories that will be sold alongside the console, like the Pulse 3D wireless headset, a media remote, and an HD camera.
Here's another fact: Nobody is checking for a PlayStation shoe in the meantime, but they dropped one anyway. Yup, the gaming company has connected with Zara for the “Sony Interactive Entertainment Sneakers.”
Borrowing its bland gray colorway from the legacy PS1, the slip-on kicks feature a handful of other PlayStation-pertinent influences, like the classic colorful logo on the tongue and the traditional X and square controller button combo across the main strap.
There are also two collar tabs displaying the PlayStation text and a "Power" button on the heel. Bringing some color to the shoe is a green air bubble for extra support during intense battles in the gulag.
Thankfully, you won't have to worry about seeing many adults sporting these things, as they only come in kids' sizes going up to a size 7 US. But if you're a die-hard fan, you can check 'em out on Zara's website for $50.
It's worth noting that Sony has been on the right side of sneaker history before. Most recently in 2018 for the E3 Expo, they linked with Nike for a special Air Force 1 Low with a deep blue Swoosh and PlayStation branding embedded in the upper heel and sole.
Their value has increased slightly over time, reselling for around $300 on StockX.
