YouTuber Corey La Barrie has passed away at 25 years old after being involved in a car accident alongside Daniel Silva of Ink Master fame. 🙏
Per TMZ, Silva was arrested on murder charges on Monday, though he's still being treated for a non-life-threatening broken hip at a Los Angeles hospital. La Barrie and Silva were out celebrating the former's 25th birthday on Sunday night when they were involved in a wreck, hitting a street sign and a tree.
Silva was reportedly driving the McLaren sports car at high speeds with La Barrie in the passenger seat, but it's unclear who owned the vehicle. La Barrie was later pronounced dead after the two were transported to a hospital.
Lissa Harrison, La Barrie's mom, confirmed her son's death on Instagram. "He was very drunk and got into a car with a drunk driver," she captioned a selfie of the young man. "The accident killed him instantly. ... It just feels so unreal and I'm overwhelmed with grief."
Details are still being pieced together about what exactly happened, but police have said that people who were at a party the two attended earlier in the night claimed Silva was drinking. That party was held to celebrate La Barrie's birthday. So sad.
With over 1 million followers on Instagram, La Barrie had a sizable social media presence. On his YouTube channel with more than 300,000 subscribers, he frequently filmed lighthearted videos of him and his friends messing around.
One of his most popular skits involved a prank on popular YouTube personality David Dobrik.
La Barrie lived in Los Angeles at a spot nicknamed the "C4 House" with roommates and fellow content creators CJ Caylen, Crawford Collins, and Chelsey Amaro.
As for Silva, he's a tattoo artist with over 1 million IG followers who's made several appearances on Ink Master in the past.
