'The Night Agent' Renewed for Action-Packed Season 2

For fans of action-packed thrillers, there is exciting news as Netflix has recently announced the renewal of The Night Agent for a second season. The series debuted less than a week ago on March 23 and quickly captured audiences’ attention, earning top honors on Netflix’s weekly Top 10 chart thanks to a whopping 168.71 million hours viewed in a short time. The second season is expected to consist of ten episodes, featuring Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan and Hong Chau amongst the cast.

The Night Agent is based on the novel with the same name by Matthew Quirk. It is a story of a low-ranking FBI agent stationed at the White House who lives a mundane life, manning a phone that never rings. But things suddenly change when he is propels into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that reaches the highest echelons of power, leading all the way to the Oval Office. Ryan’s adaptation of this novel has quickly become a favorite of viewers all around the world, with its attention-grabbing storyline and a cast of talented actors that have brought the novel’s characters to life.

The show was created by Shawn Ryan, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer via MiddKid Productions. The series’ executive producers include Marney Hochman, Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn with Exhibit A, Jamie Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and Nicole Tossou with Project X, and David Beaubaire with Sunset Lane Media. It is a credit to the hard work put in by Ryan, his writing staff, directors, cast members and crew, as well as the partnership between Sony Pictures Television and Netflix, that the show has gained enormous popularity in such a short time.
