During a recent Instagram Q&A, Jake renewed discussions surrounding a potential battle with KSI by offering a bold response to the question, "When is the next fight?" Jake wrote, "After quarantine, jake paul vs ksi, madison square garden."
With the coronavirus pandemic causing all large scale sporting events to be put on hold for an indefinite amount of time, this answer seemed a little far-fetched. Shortly after, KSI’s manager, Liam Chivers, discredited Jake's suggestion, telling Metro News that his client "is focused on music" this year.
"Boxing will have to wait until after the music plans have been rescheduled and satisfied," he added. "Who knows when that will be at this time of uncertainty. So, therefore, boxing isn’t yet in discussion at all."
However, he did suggest they'll "start looking into options for 2021 later this year if it fits into JJ’s plans at the time."
KSI, whose real name is Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji, has been pursuing a career in rap for several years. The video for his most recent single, "Houdini (feat. Swarmz & Tion Wayne)," has garnered nearly nine million views on YouTube since being released in late April.
Jake has been eagerly waiting to face off against KSI ever since the latter scored a split decision victory against Jake's older brother, Logan Paul, in November 2019. Little bro took down KSI's younger brother, Deji Olatunji, in an opening match on the same night.
Then, following Jake's first-round win over influencer AnEsonGib in January, he said KSI was going to "get clocked next," resulting in a heated face-to-face argument between the two in the ring.
