It's been just under a year since the last time Jordan Peele left us shaking with one of his horror releases, and so it's safe to say that excitement (and nerves) are high for this next release coming our way. Nope is set to hit the theatres later this summer in July -and we're here to drop at the details on what's been shared surrounding the anticipated film.
The trailer for the summer release was aired back on Super Bowl Sunday and caught football fans by surprise with the thriller teaser they caught in between touch-downs. The trailer gives a little peek at what's to come, which follows some classic Jordan Peele moves. For example, while we didn't get too many details about the thriller's plot, we do know it will pay homage to African American history - an important goal in most of Peele's projects. "Did you know that the very first assembly of photographs to create a motion picture was a two-second clip of a Black man on a horse?" Keke Palmer's character, Jill Haywood, asks in the trailer. "But that's why back at the Haywood Ranch, as the only Black-owned horse trainers in Hollywood, we like to say since the moment pictures can move we had skin in the game."
The trailer quickly switches gears and takes viewers on a nail-biting ride as we get a taste of what's to come in this supernatural thriller. It will follow Jill and James (played by Daniel Kaluuya) as they grapple with witnessing a mysterious and abnormal event in their rural Californian town. But - in true Peele fashion - that's about all we got, besides some quickly cut frames that left the hair on our backs standing upright. But for thriller and horror lovers, this trailer was the perfect first taste that left us excited for the official release. You can check it out for yourself below.
