Some people swear by the saying, "happy wife, happy life." But for many celebs, they've found that they're far happier without their spouse, and some of them didn't even stay married for a month before calling it quits.
Kim K. and Kris Humphries - 72 Days
Kris Humphries popped the question to Kim K. in May of 2011 with a massive 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring, which he helped design. "It was everything I ever dreamt of and more, I think when you know…you know," said Kim K. about her engagement to the NBA star, after eight months of dating.
On the 20th of August 2011, the couple got married, and in true Kardashian fashion, no expense was spared. While there was nothing short-lived about the estimated $6 million wedding, the couple's marriage bliss sadly only lasted 72 days, after Kim filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman - 1 Year
On the 14th of November 1998, Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman got married in Las Vegas, after what People described as "an all-night bender." Just nine days later, Rodman filed for an annulment, stating that he had not been of sound mind on the night of his wedding.
The iconic '90s couple attempted to get back together, but things didn't last, and many weren't surprised. They were both dealing with their own demons at the time, as Electra suffered a loss just a few months before their impulsive marriage. In August 1998, she lost her mother to cancer and her sister to a heart attack within two weeks.
Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley - 2 Years
Sometimes you're just better off as friends. This was proved by Nicolas Cage and Elvis' only child, Lisa Marie Presley. These two had a two-year entanglement (not the Jada Pinkett Smith kind), which became prime tabloid material. While their marriage only lasted 108 days, it wasn't a complete disaster.
Their marriage may have been short-lived, but during an appearance on CNN's Larry King Live in 2003, Presley confirmed that the former couple was still "very much" friends. She also commented that she couldn't really say what brought them together in the first place.
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger - 2 Years
Back in 2013, fans were thrilled when Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger took the plunge and tied the knot. However, after two years together, the couple called it quits. While the tabloids waited for some juicy gossip and a messy breakup story to splash over headlines, the couple remained friends.
They stayed really close, with Avril saying, "he's still like family. I didn't know that it would be that way, and I'm really glad it is because we were friends, and we made music together (including the duet, Let Me Go). We've just kept the friendship and continued having a working relationship, as well."
Renée Zellweger and Kenny Chesney - 121 Days
Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger and Grammy-nominated country singer Kenny Chesney were once married, believe it or not. The unlikely couple first met in January 2005, with the pair doing surprisingly well at keeping their relationship on the down-low until late April.
Soon after their relationship hit the public eye, they took the next step and got married. After four months, Zellweger filed for an annulment citing "fraud." People had suspicions about the meaning of "fraud" in the relationship, but according to Chesney, they felt the term was the most suitable.
Milla Jovovich and Shawn Andrews - 60 Days
At just 16-years-old, Milla Jovovich married her Dazed and Confused co-star Shawn Andrews, after only a few months of dating. The pair eloped while filming, with Milla telling the Daily Telegraph, "I was 16 and feeling emancipated, so I ran off to Vegas and got married to an actor."
She went on to say that she got married to "prove a point to my mum," even though her mother annulled the marriage after two months. Milla had been working since the age of nine and wanted to establish herself as an adult. "It wasn't about being in love, but when you're 16, you have to take three rights to make a left," she revealed.
Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco - 11 Months
On January 13th, 2014, Jeremy Renner and Sonni Pacheco promised to love each other until death do them part. However, things changed – and quickly – as on November 29th, 2014, Pacheco filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The couple shares a daughter together, so they tried to work things out for her sake. However, they realized it wasn't meant to be. Ironically, Renner told Elle in November 2013 that he felt marriage was perhaps not for him, adding, "Don't forget how the institution of marriage came about."
Britney Spears and Jason Alexander - 55 Hours
This next couple could possibly take the cake for the shortest marriage, lasting all of just 55 hours. It all started – and ended – on New Year's in 2004, when Spears invited her childhood friend, Alexander, to celebrate in Las Vegas, and then the two evidently felt rather spontaneous.
Alexander told ABC News that Britney "just came out and asked me. She was like, 'Well, let's get married.' And I was like, 'Sure. You know, let's do this.'" So, they made the spontaneous decision to walk down the Little White Wedding Chapel's aisle. And before the trip came to an end, the marriage was annulled.
Colin Farrell and Amelia Warner - 121 Days
This celeb marriage was reportedly not actually legal, but we still think it counts as the couple had a wedding ceremony on a beach in Tahiti. Although, Warner did mention that they both knew it wasn't legally binding at all. She added that they were "too polite to deny it" to the press. Confused?
The couple dated for a year and then allegedly married in 2001, when Warner was 19 and Farrell, 24. Warner's mother even gave her approval, saying that she was happy her daughter didn't have to go through many heartbreaks before finding her soul mate. Pity, it didn't last; But did it even really start?
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline - 3 Years
Oops, she did it again, got lost in the game, and her marriage lasted only two years to Kevin Federline. Their relationship started a few months after Britney's 2004 55-hour marriage when the two met at a club. Three months later, the couple wed in a surprise, low-key ceremony in California.
The couple soon welcomed two boys together; However, Spears filed for divorce just eight weeks after their second son's birth, citing irreconcilable differences. Despite their differences and a rocky start to co-parenting, they are finally in a positive, healthy space and publicly support each other.
Sinead O'Connor and Barry Herridge - 18 Days
For 18 days, Sinead O'Connor and Barry Herridge got to call each other husband and wife. However, before the honeymoon phase could even begin, O'Connor announced their split on her website, writing, "He (Barry Herridge) is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I'm sorry I'm not a more regular woman."
She went on to say, "I truly believe though it is painful to admit, we made a mistake rushing into getting married, for altruistic reasons. He has been terribly unhappy, and I have therefore ended the marriage. I think he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap."
Drew Barrymore and Tom Green - 166 Days
Charlie's Angels may have been a box office hit, but it was also where Drew Barrymore and Tom Green first met, bonded, and began dating soon after the film was released. On July 7th, 2001, the couple got married, but just 166 days later, everything was over for the two.
Ultimately, everything happened rather quickly, with Green later saying, "I don't really tend to talk about it [their marriage] that much comfortably [or] publicly. All of that was part of that sort of crazy, whirlwind of a time." The pair no longer are in touch, but they wished each other the best - don't we all?
Mario Lopez and Ali Landry - 18 Days
After dating for six years, Saved By the Bell star Mario Lopez said, "I do" to actress and model Ali Landry in 2004. However, 18 days later, Landry gave up the title of Mrs. Lopez. She had discovered a particularly compromising photo of Mario and another woman.
According to Lopez, who spoke to Howard Stern, his bachelor party was meant to be a relaxing fishing trip to Cabo. But his cousin had other plans which involved cozying up with some women instead. Somewhere on that infamous "whirlwind tour," Mario was unfaithful to Ali, and it was caught on camera – ouch.
Drew Barrymore and Jeremy Thomas - 19 Days
Before tying the knot with Thomas Green, Drew Barrymore married her first husband, Jeremy Thomas. At the tender age of 19, the young Hollywood star married a 31-year-old bar owner, and in a strange twist of fate, the marriage was over within 19 days.
Despite being everything but a traditional marriage setup, Barrymore said she felt like she was doing things "the old-fashioned way." Their ceremony took place in Thomas' bar at 5:30 am. The next day Barrymore left to shoot Boys on the Side and went on their Hawaiian honeymoon by herself, ending things over the phone.
Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd - 213 Days
In 2000, Lopez and Judd met when he was hired to direct her music video for Love Don't Cost A Thing. The two went from dating to husband and wife real fast when they got married in late September 2001. However, Lopez and Judd called it quits 213 days later.
While Judd has spoken about his battles with all the sudden interest and loss of privacy, he said the real reason behind the divorce was that "it just didn't work out." JLo has only had good things to say about Judd, calling him an "amazing person whom I love," but these days, she means just as a friend.
Fred Armisen and Elizabeth Moss - 8 Months
If The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss recalls something to be "extremely traumatic and awful and horrible," she has our full attention. But what on Earth could she be referring to? It's not a scene from the hit drama series, and it's not from Mad Men either; It's about her previous marriage.
The star married Portlandia comedian Fred Armisen in October 2009. Eight months later, Moss filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Both agreed that their relationship was "toxic." Still, Armisen went further, telling Howard Stern that he believed he was a bad husband to Moss.
Cher and Greg Allman - 9 Days
We dug through our archives and found the story of Cher and Greg Allman's relationship; They married in 1975 but divorced just nine days later. However, the two did reconcile a bit later when Allman discovered that Cher was pregnant with their son, Elijah Blue.
In 1974, Cher divorced Sonny Bono and fought for custody over their daughter, Chastity. She was allegedly dating record whizkid David Geffen at the time, but three days after finalizing her divorce, Cher jumped on a jet to Las Vegas, where she married Allman, only to divorce him after less than two weeks.
Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito - 121 Days
He may be far from the shallows now, yet, when Bradley Cooper married Jennifer Esposito, his relationship wasn't far along before the two got divorced. It took just four months, to be exact. Their wedding day had little fanfare, much like their divorce.
The two kept things civil, under the radar, and not even Howard Stern could press any juicy details out of Cooper. All he had to say about the marriage was that "it was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realized it. Things happened," proving that Hollywood stars can go through a healthy divorce.
Charlie Sheen and Donna Peele - 145 Days
The traditional way to announce any upcoming weddings is with invitations, websites, and today, even well-captioned styled and filtered Instagram posts. Not for Charlie Sheen, who chose a court as the perfect place to announce that he was getting married to model Donna Peele. Yes, you read that right.
Sheen was in the process of testifying about a secret Hollywood society that was deemed inappropriate, that he was a loyal patron of. Yes, you read that right too. While filming a 1995 cigarette commercial, Sheen met Peele, and six weeks later, they married at a lavish ceremony. Yet after 145 days, things were over.
Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush - 163 Days
Chad Michael Murray had young women lining up to marry him. So when his marriage to Sophia Bush ended after just 163 days, there was a renewed sense of hope and relief that he was back on the market again. But what went wrong between the gorgeous stars?
According to Bush, the reason she hasn't said much about their marriage is that "everyone's been 21 and stupid." She also told Andy Cohen that marriage was "not a thing [she] actually really wanted to do." Chad responded, telling Us Weekly that he "would never marry for any reason but love."
Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds - 14 Days
Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds split up before their wedding photos from French Polynesia could even be produced, or all the confetti could be collected off the ground. It took a short two weeks before these two realized that they couldn't be married anymore.
Luckily for them, U.S. law states that couples must hold a marriage on US soil to legalize it. So, they dodged the administrative nightmare of divorce proceedings. Instead, they released a statement saying that their union in Bora Bora represented their deep love for one another, yet they have decided to be friends.
Shannen Doherty and Ashley Hamilton - 152 Days
They dated for two weeks before getting married for all of five months, or 152 days if you're counting. On September 24th, 1993, 22-year-old Shannen unexpectedly married a then 19-year-old Ashley Hamilton in the backyard of her rented Santa Monica Mountain home.
On February 23rd, 1994, the famous actress filed for divorce after multiple sources confirmed that the couple had a stormy relationship. Like most Hollywood divorces, the actress cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their separation. She also asked that the court not require her to pay maintenance to Hamilton.
Jennifer Lopez and Ojani Noa - 11 Months
JLo famously sang, "don't be fooled by the rocks that I've got, I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block." In 1997, before the hit track was released, she stayed true to her future lyrics when she ignored her celeb status and married a server, Ojani Noa, who was unknown by the press.
A month before celebrating their first anniversary, the couple divorced. During the marriage, Noa signed a confidentiality agreement, which forbade him from releasing any info about their private life. However, he broke it almost immediately after they split, writing a tell-all book and releasing their honeymoon video.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand - 14 Months
After their first date, Russel Brand drove Katy Perry home, turned to her, and said, "you're a mermaid, and I'm drowning," before gifting her with a black diamond necklace. Romance is still alive – Just three months later, the couple got married in a lavish Indian ceremony and got matching tattoos.
Sadly, 14 months later, they were divorced. After a little over a year, there was trouble in paradise. The distance got in the way, but so too did the fact that they realized they had little in common. Brand wanted to start a family while Katy was still living her life as a 25-year-old and wasn't ready to settle down yet.
Eminem and Kim Mathers - 2 Years.. Then 3 Months
If you want to get an insight into Marshall "Eminem" Mathers and Kim Mathers' relationship, just turn on any of the rapper's songs. You may be shaken at what he says, as his music is filled with plenty of intense, complicated, and, quite frankly, violent songs about Hailie's mom, Kim.
These two can't seem to get away from each other, and have been married, not once, but twice. Eminem and Kim's first marriage lasted for two years after they dated throughout high school. They then remarried in January 2006, only to divorce again three months later. Will they make it a third time?
Nicky Hilton and Todd Andrew Meister - 85 Days
Before hotel heiress and successful fashion designer Nicky Hilton married into an equally powerful American family, the Rothschilds, she said "I do" to another man. Hilton once had a short-lived marriage to her childhood friend, Todd Andrew Meister, in 2004.
Hilton had called Meister a friend for a while, but at 2:30 am on August 15th, 2004, she would call him "husband" for a total of 85 days before getting the marriage annulled. The two got married during a spur-of-the-moment decision while partying in Las Vegas.
Janet Jackson and James DeBarge - 1 Year
Janet Jackson and James DeBarge were married for one year between 1984 and 1985 before it was annulled. However, the couple couldn't manage to stay away from each other after 25 years as it's suspected that they share a secret daughter together who they gave up for adoption.
It has turned into a messy situation, and the public's not entirely sure who to believe. The only way to know is with a DNA test, which apparently has been done. Still, questions have been raised surrounding the test's validity, and they denied that their alleged daughter, Tiffany Whyte, is actually their secret child.
Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds - 3 Years
In 2008 a 23-year-old Scarlett Johansson made her way down the aisle and said, "I do" to Ryan Reynolds. Three years later, she'd be walking into her lawyer's office to sign divorce papers. What possibly went wrong between one of Hollywood's hottest couples?
The couple was notoriously private, opting not to speak about each other in interviews, and they were rarely photographed together. So, many were surprised when Johansson reflected on her three-year marriage in an interview with Vanity Fair. She blamed her youth and the fact that she "romanticized [marriage]."
Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly - 8 Months
Jim Carrey and Lauren Holly met during auditions for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective before becoming co-stars in the comedy, Dumb and Dumber. It must have felt like the film Gods wanted them to be together as the pair got married on September 23rd, 1996, yet their marriage didn't last long – eight months to be exact.
Jim's comedic wit and ability to pull the most hilarious of faces couldn't save their marriage. Apparently, the tabloids were partly to blame as they would scale the couple's home fence and go through their garbage, which could explain how their dirty laundry made front-page news.
Mike Tyson and Robin Givens - 1 Year
Former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson released his 2013 memoir, Undisputed Truth, where he spoke about his one-year marriage to Robin Givens. According to him, his ex-wife and mother-in-law wanted a "big black celebrity for Robin," and Tyson fit the bill in 1987.
Givens was a Sarah Lawrence graduate who starred on the ABC sitcom Head of the Class. After their first date – where Givens arrived with her mother and publicist - they got married 11 months later. Tyson was just 22 and Givens 24 at the time. Were they doomed from the very start?
Audrina Patridge and Corey Bohan - 10 Months
Get ready, folks, because this relationship was rather messy. There were lots of nasty public exchanges between reality star Audrina and actor Corey after their short-lived marriage. This was followed by a filing for divorce 10 months after tying the knot in 2014.
The pair dated on and off starting in 2008, and then got engaged in 2015. Corey made a few appearances on The Hills: New Beginnings and the spin-off series, Audrina, where viewers saw how they battled to maintain a connection. After calling it quits on camera, they reunited and had a daughter in June 2014.
Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose - 2 Years
Oh, what could have been between Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. In a 2016 interview with Bethenny Frankel, Amber spoke about how she believed that they might still be together if the couple had married later on in life. Sadly, that wasn't the reality, and their marriage lasted just 14 months.
Amber said, "I feel like we just rushed into marriage because we were so deeply in love, and we kind of had a rough patch, and because we were married, it brought it to the next level. I feel like if we just stayed in just a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship longer, we could have worked it out and then got married later."
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard - 15 Months
We're thankful we're not the judge currently presiding over this case that's making the news headlines for all the wrong reasons. Their divorce is final, but these two are in the midst of an ugly case against a British newspaper, which claimed that Depp was violent towards his former wife.
It's a battle that some believe both stars could lose, especially after listening to their testimonies. In between alleged bottle-throwing, name-calling, use of illegal substances, violence, and more, these two were married for a total of 15 months, and it seemed anything but happy.
Chad Johnson and Evelyn Lozada - 41 Days
Sometimes when you know, you know - that it's not going to work out. When Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada, married NFL icon Chad Johnson, the writing was on the wall. They had a fiery relationship from the get-go and got married within less than a year of dating.
The pair married in July 2012, and on August 11th, 2012, they made headlines because she'd threatened to leave him after finding a receipt that implied he was unfaithful in his car. This angered Johnson, who then headbutt her, leaving a large laceration on her forehead. Johnson was arrested, and Lozada filed for divorce.
Paula Abdul and Brad Beckerman - 17 Months
When a marriage starts off with the proclamation, "I've loved you from the day we met. You are my best of times", it probably comes as a complete shock when 17 months later, the couple gets a divorce. And that's what happened between Paula Abdul and Brad Beckerman.
Entertainer and former American Idol judge Paula Abdul married clothing manufacturer Brad Beckerman in October of 1996. The two met on a blind date, and at first, we thought she'd be Forever Your Girl, Brad. Still, sadly there were irreconcilable differences between the two.
Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard - 2 Years
New Girl star Zooey Deschanel and indie rocker Ben Gibbard were married for just two years before calling it quits. This didn't come as a total surprise after the rocker revealed in an interview in 2008 that he'd "rather make great records than make great relationships."
Ben later retracted that statement, blaming being in a bad place in his life. We can't help but think that Zooey must have changed his mind with her bubbly personality and mesmerizing blue eyes. Sadly, the two couldn't make it last, and we wonder if Ben has gone back to being cynical about finding forever love.
Axl Rose and Erin Everly - 10 Months
What may have been a spur-of-the-moment decision to get married at Las Vegas' Cupid's Inn Chapel on April 28th, 1990, wasn't based on an instant relationship. Axl Rose and Erin Everly had been dating for some time, although their relationship was filled with ups and downs.
After just 48 hours, Everly wanted an annulment; However, they only officially split 10 months later. Axl spoke candidly about their relationship, saying, "sometimes we treated each other great because the children in us were best friends. But then there were other times when we just messed up each other's lives completely."
Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson - 112 Days
What started out as a fairy tale for Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson on July 9th, 2006, when the couple got married, sadly ended after 122 days. The couple had previously been engaged in 2003 and broke it off, but they really couldn't make it work the second time around.
There were plenty of rumors surrounding their relationship and why their marriage broke down. According to one source, Rock was so upset about Anderson's cameo in Borat that he wanted a divorce. While it's never been confirmed what really happened, we do know that these two have had a rather tumultuous past.
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez - 2 Years
These two hotshot Hollywood stars met on the set of the 2012 film Dark Tide. Clearly, it was love at first sight as they went on to walk down the aisle in July 2013 during a lavish European ceremony. They also welcomed a son together, but it wasn't so perfect after all behind the scenes.
The first sign of was trouble in paradise in August 2015 when Berry was spotted without her diamond ring, although she said it had been lost in Mexico. However, on October 26th, she filed for divorce and released a statement saying that the pair had decided to move forward with love and respect for one another.

Helen Hunt and Hank Azaria - 11 Months
Hank Azaria was famous for his voice-over work in The Simpsons before becoming a household favorite on various shows. He also became Helen Hunt's favorite for a while when the couple dated for six years, before saying their "I do's" on 17 July, 1999.
The ceremony was a perfect blend of Jewish, Buddhist, and Hawaiian traditions – a combination few have seen before – yet after just eleven months, the marriage was over. The pair blamed their work commitments, which had never been busier than when they tried to be husband and wife.
Grace Gummer and Tay Strathairn - 42 Days
Grace Gummer and Tay Strathairn are yet another couple citing irreconcilable differences, except these two only lasted for 42 days before realizing that they simply weren't compatible. The couple didn't even take many photos together, an indication of how short their relationship was.
Ironically, Grace and Tay's parents coincidentally co-starred as husband and wife in the 1994 film, The River Wild. We hope that this famous American Horror Story and Mr. Robot actress and musician can find true everlasting love sometime in the future.
Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon - 2 Months
Pamela Anderson has had a string of short marriages, and one of her most tumultuous ones was with Rick Salomon, who has also had his fair share of brief marriages. The Baywatch star married the professional poker player – for the first time – in October 2007 during a night out in Las Vegas.
Two months later, she filed to have the marriage dissolved on December 14th, 2007. This was all harmless compared to their second separation, which resulted in plenty of he-said, she-said, and harsh words hurled at each other in court. Luckily there has been no third reconciliation to write about.
Chris Kattan and Sunshine Deia Tutt - 2 Months
Chris Kattan, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, married his model girlfriend, Sunshine Deia Tutt, back in June of 2008 in the beautiful Yosemite Valley. Their nuptials may have been picture-perfect, but their relationship was far from it and sadly didn't last.
It took all of eight weeks before the couple called it quits, and after dating for three years, we'd thought that they were destined to be together forever. The only thing left of their time together is the six-figure settlement that Sunshine received after their divorce.
Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller - 2 Years
In 2008, Charlie Sheen married Brooke Mueller, his third and final wife. At the time, he said, "this feels like my first real marriage. The first one was a show, the second one was a con, and this one is the real deal." For Brooke, their marriage was more of a 'raw deal' than a real one.
After just two years, the couple divorced, and the pair had a detailed prenup – leaning heavily in Charlie's favor. Brooke received under $2 million, less than what Sheen earned for two episodes of Two and a Half Men. She also endured years of an unhealthy marriage, which Sheen pleaded guilty to.
Elizabeth Taylor and Conrad "Nicky" Hilton - 17 Months
Elizabeth Taylor is certainly no stranger to marriages and divorces, with eight under her belt. Her idea of her first marriage to Conrad "Nicky" Hilton being wedded bliss had been "very naïve," and who could blame her? She was just 18-years-old at the time.
The pair had an over-the-top wedding, followed by three months cruising in and around Europe. Yet 205 days later, it was all over for the couple, with some reports stating that Hilton's substance abuse was too much for Taylor to handle, while Taylor claimed that he had hurt her verbally in the divorce proceedings.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth - 8 Months
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were all sorts of #couplegoals back when they met on the set of The Last Song in 2009. For over a decade, the two had us guessing about the status of their relationship. Still, at the end of 2018, they tied the knot, after reuniting in late 2015.
We're not sure what happened, but just eight months later, in August 2019, Miley confirmed that the two had parted to "focus on themselves." Later that month, Liam turned Miley's euphemism into permanent separation by filing for divorce. We hoped that the two would get back together like they always do. We're still waiting.
Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter - 1 Year
Around the same time that Miley and Liam were divorcing, so were reality stars, Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter. The couple got married in Indonesia but never had it legally recognized in the US. A year later, they issued a statement stating that they had amicably decided to end things.
Just a few days after the separation, Kaitlynn was seen getting hot and heavy with Miley Cyrus. However, their relationship fizzled out before it even began. Since then, Kaitlynn has been seen with Brody again after posting images from their trips to Bali. Anyone know their status?
Luann de Lesseps and Tom D’Agostino Jr. - 7 Months
On New Year's Eve 2016, in Palm Beach, Florida, Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps married businessman Tom D'Agostino Jr. While reports of infidelity plagued them long before they even made it down the aisle, the pair still got married only to divorce seven months later.
Tom revealed to E! News that he "fell in love, got married quickly, and am very sad that two people in love are not together." While Luann said that there was a buildup of events that caused her to end things, she got over the divorce by traveling with friends and family, as she shared online.
Anna Camp and Skylar Astin - 2 Years
These two may have co-starred in Pitch Perfect, but their marriage turned out to be everything but pitch-perfect, getting divorced a mere two years after getting hitched. The pair began dating mid-2013 following Camp's divorce from actor Michael Mosely.
To make the divorce official, the two unfollowed each other on Insta. They got over their divorce by throwing themselves into work projects. Camp appeared in the romantic comedy, The Wedding Year, while Astin stepped into Greg's role for the last season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – did they choose these films on purpose?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - 2 Years
At one point during divorce proceedings, we were just waiting for these two to go all Mr. & Mrs. Smith on each other, as things took an unfortunate turn between the two. Before a two-year marriage and many children, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt first announced their engagement in April 2012.
They were married on August 23rd, 2014, yet two years later, Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. She told Vogue India that she left Brad "for the wellbeing of my family." Pitt has since worked on his own shortfalls, and things seem to be amicable between the two again.
Nicolas Cage and Erika Koike - 4 Days
Four seems to be an unlucky number for actor Nicolas Cage. He has been married four times, and his shortest marriage lasted all of just four days when he married Erika Koike on March 23rd, 2019. On March 27th, the actor filed for an annulment – or divorce – if that was the only option.
The actor and makeup artist began dating in April of 2018, and when they got married, their ceremony was anything but peaceful. According to People magazine, the couple was seen arguing as they applied for their marriage license – was it sign of what was to come?
Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba - 1 Day
Zsa Zsa Gabor was no stranger to divorce, having been married nine times, and was famously quoted saying, "I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house." However, her shortest marriage lasted just one day – we're not entirely sure if she got the house afterward.
Zsa Zsa married Count Felipe de Alba in 1983. According to BuzzFeed, their union was incredibly short-lived – even by 2020 standards – after discovering that she was still married to her first husband, Michael O'Hara. Once this news surfaced, the couple split the very next day.
Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine - 32 Days
These two old Hollywood stars swapped Broadway stages and film screens for the aisle when they got married in 1946. Their marriage lasted just over one month after they got divorced 32 days later, with reports suggesting it was due to his well-known temper.
Since then, the Oscar-winning actor has said that he harbors no harsh feelings towards his ex, and recalled, "I was married to a lovely lady who was a star. I was married to her for 32 days, and that was enough." We guess that this could be taken in any direction, but we're hoping that he meant it positively.
Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters - 12 Days
Yep, we're featuring many people's fave babe, Pamela Anderson, again, as this was her shortest marriage to date, lasting 12 days. It was also her most civil divorce, in that there were no harsh taunts thrown and both herself and Jon Peters seem to agree it was for the best, with no hard feelings.
The two briefly dated 30 years prior before getting married in January 2020. Twelve days later, Pamela released a statement, saying, "life is a journey, and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process."
Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson - 8 Months
This couple had Bachelor in Paradise fans and contestants believing in finding love on the show after Chris and Krystal actually made it down the aisle. Yet, just eight months after their wedding was filmed and aired on the popular show, they announced their split.
"It hurts to announce that at this moment, we have mutually decided to separate. Never did we imagine this scenario, but we've come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves. We are best friends that love and care for each other so deeply." Perhaps they realized that they were more best friends than soulmates, after all?
Shannen Doherty and Rick Salomon - 9 Months
Salomon may be a pro at knowing when to hold 'em and fold 'em in the casino, but he certainly has had trouble navigating his love life. One of his unsuccessful marriages was to Doherty, who was also no stranger to divorces. However, everyone hoped that the two had found everlasting love.
In 2002, the couple married after allegedly only dating for two days. Doherty became the wife of a famous poker player while starring in Charmed. During their time together, Salomon apparently reconnected with his former girlfriend, Paris Hilton. Nine months after getting hitched, the marriage was annulled.
Dennis Hopper and Michelle Phillips - 8 Days
Dennis Hopper and Michelle Phillips were married for a total of 8 days. The two married on October 31st, 1970, and divorced on November 8th, with Hopper reportedly later joking that "seven of those days were pretty good. The eighth day was the bad one" in an interview with the New York Daily News.
The two struck up a romance when Michelle played a small part in a movie that Hopper was starring in. On a whim, the two decided to get married, with Michelle allegedly later saying that Hopper's "unnatural sexual demands" were the cause of their sudden split.
