With Japanese fashion brand sacai and Nike officially revealing photos of the highly-anticipated VaporWaffle in two distinct styles, there's a solid chance the sneakers will hit digital shelves in the coming weeks.
Arriving in white/red/blue and black/white colorways, the kicks adopt the signature doubled-up design of sacai and Nike's wildly popular LD Waffle from 2018, which are reselling for around $600 on StockX.
While the VaporWaffle continues to pay homage to classic Nike Running models, one of the major updates is that sacai leader Chitose Abe has dramatized the jutted heel, inserting a curved midsole to create a lip of sorts. (This shoe is looking real hungry!)
Wearers will still be seeing double nearly everywhere else as well: there are two tongues made of mesh and nylon, two Swooshes combining a print and stitched leather approach, and two lace sets. Two co-branded, retro tongue tabs sit on top; the heel tab is stamped with layered brand names. Overall, the main materials used are mesh and suede.
Once rumored to be named the VaporPegasus, a couple of alternate colorways like tan/maroon/green and yellow/green/black were spotted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week.
