Outside of launching a still-mysterious media company called pgLang in March, Kendrick Lamar has enjoyed a pretty reserved 2020, especially in terms of musical releases.

Only the chance to work with one of the most legendary hip-hop artists of all-time in Busta Rhymes could convince him to break his lyrical silence, as Kenny is featured on Busta's latest single "Look Over Your Shoulder."

Appearing on Busta's first album after more than a decade-long hiatus away from solo projects, 'Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God,' the track is produced by Nottz and interpolates The Jackson 5's classic ballad "I'll Be There," released circa 1970.

Snatching the opening verse for a little more than a minute, Kendrick raps, "I wrote my first bars in the car with Stacey / How bizarre, my battle scars at large would lace me / Big marbles, n***a / I lead this new generation, boy / Don’t argue with us / Marvelous beat selectors, authors and novel spitters / And it’s all for the literature / And it’s all for the hideous / The nastiest flows like chlamydia."

Don't get it twisted: Busta, 48, isn't just hopping on Kendrick's wave for commercial appeal. He reminded fans that he's been in Kendrick's corner for a minute, sharing an old clip of the two performing their "Rigamortus" remix together during a 2011 Los Angeles concert. "THE PROPHECY WILL BE FULFILLED!!!!" he claimed in the caption.

Fans were feeling Kenny's effort and unmistakable flow. Popular rap stan account Shrek Knows Rap even placed the song as a whole in the conversation for the best of the year.

The long-awaited sequel to Busta's 1998 album 'Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front' hits streaming services tomorrow (Friday) with additional guest appearances from Rakim, Pete Rock, Rick Ross, Mariah Carey, and more.
