Freddie Gibbs and Big Sean Celebrate Like the Lakers at the NBA Championship

music /

In the lead-up to the Los Angeles Lakers winning their 17th NBA title on Sunday night, Freddie Gibbs and Big Sean donned custom LA jerseys and popped champagne like they were members of the squad.

Really, though, the championship celebration captures the mood of the pair on their upcoming collab “4 Thangs” produced by Hit-Boy. Gibbs views the trio like “The Big 3” of the rap game, per an Instagram caption.

One of the highlights of the track is the triumphant hook where Sean raps, “Million dollars, million followers h*e that’s not the same.”

Not only did they correctly predict the Lakers’ 4-2 series win over the Miami Heat by ordering an assortment of purple and gold gear, but the song name (whether on purpose or not) nods toward LeBron James, who won his fourth ‘ship and fourth finals MVP award.

Fans first heard a preview of the track in late September. While both Gibbs and Sean have seen major success this year with their respective albums, Alfredo and Detroit 2, Sean beat his new teammate on the charts, debuting at No. 1. On the court, it’s a different story. Over the weekend, Sean hinted at a video for “Wolves” featuring Post Malone as well. The Detroit and Dallas duo were spotted sharing a laugh on set.
