Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Are Likely Appearing in ‘Spider-Man 3’

When ‘Spider-Man 3’ swings into theaters in mid-December 2021, there’s strong reason to believe that fans are going to be treated to at least three Spider-Man stars.

Reports suggest that Tom Holland, who’s played Spidey since 2016, will be joined by former stars of the series Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, creating a live-action Spider-Verse.

A source from Sony Pictures claims that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will bring the trio together in the final act of the new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) entry to battle Spidey’s various enemies, expected to feature much of the infamous Sinister Six.

Communicating with ET Canada, a rep from Sony refused to confirm or deny the casting buzz, simply saying the characters “are not confirmed.”

Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter broke that Jamie Foxx was nearing a deal to enter the MCU and reprise his role as the villain Electro for the first time since 2014’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’

Foxx then confirmed the signing in a since-deleted IG status and revealed he “won’t be blue in this one.”

Some fans are theorizing that Doctor Strange’s appearance in the upcoming flick suggests a “multi-verse” is taking form, officially beginning with the Disney+ miniseries ‘WandaVision’ and coming to an end with ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ releasing in 2022.

Adding to the madness, a rumor was sparked that Sony and Marvel have found an actor to play a live-action version of Miles Morales, though the exact film he would grace is unknown. That’d be too crazy!
