This Massive Gundam Robot in Japan Can Move Its Arms and Legs

If anything can rescue the general population from the seemingly neverending danger of 2020, a life-size replica of the RX-78-2 Gundam in Japan could do the trick.

Standing at 59 feet tall and roughly 55,000 pounds, the gigantic robot based on the main character of the mecha anime franchise Mobile Suit Gundam went viral after being guided through a series of motion tests.

"Who wants smoke?" Gundam, probably.

Its impressive range of capabilities includes taking a knee, moving its arms and raising its fingers toward the sky, as well as twisting its head and staring down at interested onlookers.

This Transformer-like monument will eventually be displayed at the Gundam Factory amusement park in Japan's second-largest city, Yokohama. For now, the coronavirus pandemic will keep it by the bay for the next year. Enkjoy the demo videos below.

This piece of machinery is too dope.
